What is a micro wedding?

A micro wedding is a small-scale wedding ceremony and reception, typically with between 20-30 guests in attendance, as opposed to the UK’s average of 82.3 people. I’ve never met that elusive 0.3 of a person yet !

These intimate celebrations have become increasingly popular in recent years, offering a more budget-friendly and personalized alternative to the traditional larger-scale weddings.

Micro weddings can be held in non-traditional wedding venues such as private homes, parks, or restaurants. The smaller guest list allows for more flexibility in venue choices and can also create a more intimate and personal atmosphere.

The ceremony itself may be simplified as well, with fewer attendants and a shorter ceremony. However, couples can still choose to incorporate traditional elements such as exchanging vows, exchanging rings, and having a wedding officiant.

While the ceremony itself may be small, many couples choose to splurge on high-quality food & drinks, decor, and of course investing wisely in a high end photographer. This allows them to create a luxurious and intimate experience for themselves and their guests, without the high costs of a large wedding.

One of the benefits of micro weddings is that they allow couples to focus more on the quality of the experience rather than the quantity of guests. With fewer people to accommodate, couples can spend more time with each individual guest, creating a more meaningful and memorable experience for everyone involved.

Additionally, micro weddings can offer more flexibility in terms of date and time. With a smaller guest list, couples may be able to hold their wedding on a weekday or during off-peak months when traditional venues and vendors are more available and affordable.

Overall, a micro wedding is a great option for couples looking to have a more intimate, budget-friendly, and personalized wedding experience.
