Cragwood Country House Hotel is nestled in secluded woodland, overlooking Lake Windermere, offering a tranquil and romantic atmosphere for the wedding celebrations. Cragwood’s landscaped grounds which stretch over many terraces leading down to the shores of the Lake are one of the most beautiful in the whole of The Lake District.
Cragwood has several indoor and outdoor wedding options, including a stunning terrace overlooking the lake, which is ideal for outdoor ceremonies and receptions. The hotel’s elegant dining room can accommodate up to 70 guests, and the intimate lounge and bar areas provide the perfect space for pre-dinner drinks and post-wedding celebrations where photo opportunities are abound.
Cragwood has 23 stylish rooms and suites, each individually decorated and offering stunning picturesque views of the lake or woodland and I can personally vouch (far too many times 🙂 that its afternoon teas are amongst the best in the entire Lakes.

“We got married at Cragwood Country House in the Lake District and had read excellent reviews of David’s photography so immediately booked him to take photos of our wedding. David worked ever so hard on the day, and was incredibly enthusiastic and helpful. There was a quick turnaround getting the photo to us so we could frame them in time for a post wedding meal with wider family back in Norfolk. The photographs were all natural photographs that captured our wedding and the beautiful Lake District landscape. The photos of us and our guests in front of Lake Windermere are incredible and some the photos show the stunning clouds swirling above us with the sun streaming through the clouds, are surreal. The photos really capture memories of an amazing day in the stunning Lake District and the landscapes and gardens of Cragwood Country House. I highly recommend David for weddings for the brilliant photographs. A picture is definitely worth a thousand words.”
