May the fourth be with you !
The couple eloped to The Lakes to get married on 4th May, which is very special to Star Wars fans, and Brian & Jo even bought some cardboard masks to mark the occasion.
After tying the knott at a ceremony at The Famous Blacksmiths shop in Gretna Green, we then headed 30 mins south by car to the beautiful Ullswater.
Elopement weddings like this can be such an amazing opportunity to explore an area, because you are not tied down to set times and without anyone else to consider, you really have the freedom to do what Jo and Brian did, and go with the flow.
This couple and not forgetting their dog, Barney were such lovely down to earth people and before we knew it we left as friends. Upon reflection, I had the privilege of spending some time doing what I love doing with some people who clearly were in love with each other and whose company I really enjoyed.
Yes, we had a set number of hours set aside, and whist we went a little over, for me its not the hours, but the connection and ensuring that the couple are left loving what I’ve produced.
I’m known for producing epic cinematic images inspired by the landscape and there is one image with Jo, hand in hand with Brian, and almost levitating, (which is very Star Wars) with her shadow underneath and Ullswater glimmering in the background. This is one of my all time favourite photos and shows what can be achieved when adequate time is given for all the magic ingredients to come together.
