Phil & Anna married at one of the finest venues in The NW of England, the stylish and sophisticated Laura Ashley, Belsfield Hotel overlooking Lake Windermere.
The couple hailed from Liverpool and the guest list contained some of that great City’s top business people, and boy they sure know how to party.
This wedding was over the Christmas period, and The Hotel as always was impeccable (see the photos) and the attention to detail was second to none. If ever you want consummate professional wedding planners to take care of everything, then look no further than Heather, Victoria and Alicia who always go above and beyond.
The weather was mixed and at times the rain was heavy and the mist obscuring what should have been a magnificent view towards Coniston Old Man, The Crinkles, Bowfell and The Langdales; anyway more on that later.
The macaroon cake was a work of art and bore an uncanny resemblance to the colours of Anna’s beautiful wedding dress, which was blushed peach. I absolutely love the “first look” of Anna seeing her Dad for the first time that morning and used the mirror to frame both their reactions; after all, it’s the emotion on the day that I’m looking to capture.
Sometime after their weddings vows, and just after the canapes in the lounge, something happened. You see I’m always thinking a few stages ahead and monitoring the weather which up to that pint had turned from rain to light drizzle (remember Peter Kaye) and then lo and behold we had a break in the weather.
Before you could say “Ferry Cross The Mersey” (most of the guests were BIG Liverpool fans) the only shower which was happening was Anna & Philip being showered by confetti as they strolled hand in hand as the mist started to clear on the wooded hillside on the far side of Lake Winderemere.
As the guests made their way back in we captured a few intimate shots of their immediate family, followed by the Groomsmen and Bridesmaids who all wore the same colour, but with completely individualised styles. The photos of the Bridesmaids look dramatic set against the brooding backdrop.
As the evening entertainment kicked in their wedding moved onto a whole new level; as the newlyweds and their guests joined in the singing belting out hit after hit. The highlight was a raucous rendition of “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond and every time I hear it my mind wanders back to Phil & Anna’s wedding. Their wedding rocked The Belsfield!
